Kids Bedroom Pictures : HGTV Smart Home 2013

About the Kids' Bedroom:
In the kids' bedroom interior designer Linda Woodrum broke free from the rules of understatement and high regency style. Kitschy, she says, is OK in a space that celebrates family, fun and a child's first wide-eyed experience at the seashore. "The twin bedroom has great appeal for everyone. The skateboards over the twin beds speak to a young teen, but change those out and it becomes a guest room or a young child's bedroom," says Linda.

Inspired by the rich colors and patterns of the Mediterranean, a machine woven area rug anchors the space and serves as a springboard for the room's saturated color palette.

An industrial style demilune table stands in contrast to the room's cottage inspired furnishings. A handmade glass lamp provides the needed focal point.

A three tiered chest carves out a focal area and reading nook. Beachy whimsical artwork, including an original acrylic sea life painting by "island impressionist" Kathy Frosio, keep the design focus lighthearted.

Replace skateboards with traditional artwork and dress the cottage style twin poster beds in classic fabrics, and the space becomes ideal for adult guests.

A custom made duvet, backed in linen, provides an extra layer of warmth on cool beach nights.

A closet turns homework center with the addition of a desktop, corkboard wall and beach inspired artwork.

An ottoman with the look of a weathered antique provides space to store books and toys and doubles as seating in the room's reading area.

"Wonderful colors, a great view, fun fabrics, and furnishings and accessories pull together to create a bedroom that works in many ways," says Linda.

Kids Bathroom Pictures : HGTV Smart Home 2013

About the Kids' Bathroom:
Continuing the bold color palette established in the kids' bedroom, the adjoining bathroom bursts with hues of aqua, lime and sand. An American Red Cross Volunteer Life Saving Corps uniform, protected behind glass, carves out a unique focal point.

The sandy shade of ceramic tile floors, designed to resemble shimmering quartzite, contributes to the space's beachy design theme. A Floridian print shower curtain lends a vintage touch.

Making a connection to exterior and interior step risers as well as the inground pool wall tile, frosted micro block tile, in a soothing shade of ocean blue, clads the bath/shower stall.

A window streams natural light into the space; an oversized vanity mirror visually expands the square footage.

Clean, crisp and colorful, the bathroom successfully pairs classic Florida style with modern design elements. "There is a clean, crisp feeling in the space, and the great blue tiles in the tub/shower surround and the fun framed Life Saving Corp uniform create a sense of fun and escape one also experiences at the beach," says interior designer Linda Woodrum.

Restaurant Interior Design | Fresh Vegetarian Cafe | Sundukovy Sisters Studio

Moscow "Fresh's" interior design was developed by "Sundukovy Sisters" studio, founded by Olga and Irina Sundukovy.

The restaurant's minimalistic interior design made of natural decor materials - brickwork of the 19th century, modern concrete, old boards from Russian villages covering the walls and ceiling, opened ventilation and author's lamps.

Olga and Irina Sundukovy aimed to create simple and honest interior design - just as "Fresh's" healthy and honest food is. At the same time they designed the interior which breaks the sectarianism idea of vegetarian food that sounds like "meat-eaters are not belong here". In opposite, 80% of Canadian Fresh restaurants' visitors are non-vegetarian. They are just people who make their choice towards healthy and tasty food...........more about the restaurant interior design

Guest Bedroom Pictures : HGTV Smart Home 2013

About the Guest Bedroom:
Interior designer Linda Woodrum had a pretty firm handle on the guest bedroom:
The palette would follow that of the landing and showcase hues of lime green and brown. Then something changed. "I saw that hot pinky coral fabric," she says. "I thought, 'This is the most amazing color.'" Unable to pass up the oversized print, she instead transformed the fabric into lined drapery and built the space around them, with decorative pillows, furnishings and artwork complementing the "stylized tropical" theme.

Bright coral drapery fabric inspired the room's color palette. A focus on bold, graphic geometric patterns and prints keeps the room from being too precious.

A collection of custom made and designer chic pillows tops the queen sized bed, dressed in layers of cozy, breathable linen and cotton. A handcrafted starburst style mirror provides a focal point above the upholstered headboard.

An interactive touchscreen on a smart tablet allows the user to control home automation features, monitor security cameras, and even check local weather, news and traffic.

A chevron print accent chair nestled near the bedside provides a spot to relax, read or gaze out onto the side yard.

Nestled in a wooded setting, HGTV Smart Home offers picturesque views of Southern pine and native palms, ferns and magnolia from guest bedroom windows.

Furnished with a sleeper sofa that accommodates additional overnight guests, the loft area serves as an anteroom to the guest bedroom.

A 32 inch LED flat screen TV nests atop a travertine topped bar turned bureau that opens to reveal tray drawers, shelves and wine bottle storage that could hold media accessories.

Family photos find a home atop a classic bombe chest, whitewashed and cedar lined to keep linens fresh.

A walnut table, clad in capiz shell, is topped with a bouquet of rosé tipped amaryllis. A trio of mercury bubble vases holds patchouli ginger candles that lend boutique-hotel style.

Guest Bathroom Pictures : HGTV Smart Home 2013

About the Guest Bathroom:
Taking its cue from the guest bedroom design, the adjoining bathroom offers a palette of sand, cream and coral. Mocha glass wall tile is paired with neutral ceramic floor tile in a space that makes subtle reference to beach location and offers luxury spa-style features.

A contemporary print in a hot coral shade is transformed into a custom shower curtain. A trio of vintage G.I. Joe action figure flippers, matted and encased in glass, command attention and lend a touch of whimsy.

A crisp white vanity, capped in quartz, offers undercounter storage and countertop space to display hand soap and an African violet plant.

Natural light streams into the space via a window. An oversized vanity mirror visually expands the space.

Loft Pictures : HGTV Smart Home 2013

About the Loft:
A walk through space at the top of the staircase, the loft offers a cozy respite from the home's active first floor spaces. A place to congregate, read a book or catch up on a favorite TV show, the loft boasts a clean, uncluttered design theme. "The colors evoke a more masculine feel," says interior designer Linda Woodrum. "I thought it was a nice contrast to the living room."

To conserve square footage, architect Mike Stauffer eliminated hallways in favor of pass through spaces. Furnished and cozy, the loft makes use of what would otherwise be wasted space.

Connected to both guest and kids' bedrooms, the loft area provides a space to kick back, relax, and connect with friends and family before retiring for the evening.

Bold graphic prints pair well with cool lime green upholstery fabrics. Making use of every inch of space, the leather sofa opens out to a full sized sleeper.

Designed to resemble inverted chain hung pendant lights, table lamps provide just the right mix of industrial meets nautical.

The chandelier's wispy paper diffusers resemble sea birds in flight.

A rustic chest of drawers provides storage and tabletop surface to display a 40 inch LED TV. A sepia tone photo on fine art paper by Jacksonville Beach artist John Kuss draws the eye.

With a color palette directly connected to views, the loft proves both rich and understated. "It's a very clean, tailored masculine vibe," says Linda.

Laundry Room Pictures : HGTV Smart Home 2013

About the Laundry Room:
The home's secondary entrance opens into a laundry and storage space, where towels, swimsuits and soiled clothing can be stripped and beach gear stowed before one advances into the home's formal spaces. Both hard working and stylish, the room hints at the home's overall color palette and design aesthetic. "I just wanted it to be happy and pretty," says interior designer Linda Woodrum, cognizant of the view into the laundry room from adjoining spaces. "The laundry room is going to be the primary entrance for whoever lives at HGTV Smart Home and it's important that you see something attractive when you first walk in."

Designed to keep sand and soil outside, a secondary entrance located conveniently adjacent to the driveway and garage opens into a laundry room, where one can clean up after a day at the beach.

Hard working yet stylish, the laundry room makes a designer statement. Vibrant green walls connect to lush side yard views and a Jacksonville Beach, Fla., street light banner doubles as artwork.

Energy efficient appliances are tucked conveniently under counter; the muted titanium finish lends a modern sensibility.

A series of black-and-white photos, captured by photographer Eric Perry, features local Jacksonville Beach surfers.

A pocket door opens to reveal an adjoining pantry/closet, which offers space to store beach gear and accessories, plus cleaning supplies and dry goods.

Both stylish and functional, polished quartz countertops offer ample space to fold laundry.

A window bench offers a cozy spot to stop and kick off flip flops and stow them in hand molded rattan baskets before entering the kitchen. A garden stool may double as a laptop computer stand.
